FRP(Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer) Rebar is a spiral wrapped structural reinforcing rod made from a combination of fiberglass roving and resin. FRP Rebar has been developed as a non-corrosive alternative to steel in concrete reinforcement and is suitable for any structural or architectural application where a material that is corrosion resistant, lightweight or non-conductive is required.
Application:
l Concrete Susceptible to Corrosion
l Tunneling & Mining
l Building & Historic Preservation
l Exposure of Concrete to De-Icing Chlorides
l Masonry Strengthening
l Exposure of Concrete to Marine Chlorides
l Exposure of Concrete to High Voltages & Electromagnetic Fields
Features:
l Corrosion-resistance: Will not rust, and are impervious to the action of salt ions, chemicals, and the alkalinity inherent in concrete.
l Lightweight: Weigh approximately one-quarter the weight of an equivalent size steel bar, offering significant savings in both placement and use.
l Electromagnetic neutrality: Contain no metal, and will not interfere with the operation of sensitive electronic devices such as medical MRI units or electronic testing devices.
l Thermal insulator: Highly efficient in resisting heat transfer, such as from building exteriors to interiors.
l Excellent Fatigue Resistance: Performs very well in cyclic loading situations.
l High tensile strength: Better than the one of steel rebar.
l High bond strength: Better than steel-to-concrete bonding.
